Our chiropractors are trained in functional neurology by the Carrick Institute Graduate Studies (USA). Their Clinical Neurology curriculum is accredited by the American Chiropractic Neurology Board. Tom Claykens and Jeroen Postma are diplomates of the American Chiropractic Neurology Board (DACNB). This is a specialty board in Neurology, recognized by the American Chiropractic Association, The American Chiropractic Association’s Council on Neurology and the Council on Chiropractic Specialties. The American Chiropractic Neurology Board is a full member of the National Organization for Competency Assurance (USA) and is fully accredited by the National Commission for Certification Agencies.
The concept of functional neurology is relatively new and is a field of study that achieves successful results by applying current neuroscience in an office setting. This means that the Functional Neurology Practitioner is taking current neuroscience from the research laboratory and devising ways of applying that research in the office to treat patients.
What this means for you is that because our chiropractors have a deep knowlegde of the functioning of the nervous system and are able to perform specific neurological tests, they are able to detect problems in the nervous system that would otherwise most likely go undetected.
